About

A HEALTHIER WAY TO TAN

From a young age, Kim Benz had a passion for make up, fashion and dressing up.  And like a lot of girls in their teens and twenties, Kim longed to achieve that perfect, gorgeous bronze tan.  She knew that laying out in the sun and using tanning beds was bad for her skin but she did it anyway.  In her mid-twenties, she was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer.  She had it removed and went right back to basking in the sun and laying in the beds...it wasn't until recently in her mid thirties when skin cancer lesions began appearing all over her body that she realized the severity of what she had done.  Now, after 2 surgeries to remove tumors from her lip and nose and with reconstruction to her face, she has started an airbrush tanning business to help promote a safe and healthier way to tan.

Leilani Mobile Tan uses only premium spray tanning solutions that are oil-free, alcohol-free, and contain the highest quality dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a colorless sugar derivative that darkens the skin by reacting with amino acids on the skin surface. The sun, in contrast, affects the deepest layers of the skin. DHA was permanently added to the Food and Drug Administration’s list of approved cosmetic ingredients in 1973. DHA does not damage the skin and it’s not absorbed through the skin into the body. It’s been used in cosmetic preparations for more than 30 years.

CUSTOMIZED TO EACH CLIENT

Before Kim applies an airbrush tan, she examines your skin type and consults with you to discuss the color you desire.  Kim uses her wide range of tanning solutions to develop a customized color based on your skin tone and requested color level, resulting in a beautiful, natural looking tan.  People are not the same shade, and their sunless tan shouldn’t be either.
